Under direction of the Automation Manager, the Sr. Manufacturing Controls Engineer is responsible for

  • All phases of control system development for custom, large-scale automation or manufacturing equipment projects
  • Create control system architecture for automated prototype, pilot line and production equipment for Marmon Retail sites
  • Leading the design and design review process for control systems for automated manufacturing cells
  • Supporting the project team on manufacturing equipment projects from design to debug and production support
  • Creation of RFP’s and Purchase Specification documents for new manufacturing equipment
  • Testing and validation of new designs and equipment
  • Utilizing your extensive knowledge of industrial control systems and the ability to translate that knowledge into robust equipment designs that enhance Marmon Retail’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Participates and/or leads as a member of a cross-functional project team
  • Completing design and development projects by training and guiding technicians and junior engineers

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ related experience in design and deployment of automated manufacturing equipment and their associated control systems
  • Detailed knowledge of PLC’s, HMI’s, data acquisition systems, Robotics, servos and motion control systems, Automated Vision Inspection Systems, Industry 4.0
  • Programing expertise with Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, Keyence controllers, various servo systems, ABB and Yaskawa robots and vision inspection systems
  • Expert level Control System knowledge
  • Familiarity of analytical statistical methods, validation protocols, PFMEA’s, control plans and RCA Methods
  • Experience with ANSI, NFPA and OSHA safety standards for industrial control systems
  • Familiarity with control panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams and power distribution
  • 30-50% travel, domestic.
